Blue hexagons

And here's the second from the blue period. This one is based on 60 degree pyramids arranged like a kalaidoscope quilt.

It's got bits of byed-blue lace, a large crocheted doily and a small tatted one.  I crocheted the big one, Luanne made the tatted one.  They were stitched to the surface with invisible thread before quilting.

Blue and yellow star quilt

This Lone Star quilt was made by my friend Nickey.  She asked me to quilt it because she was about to undergo open heart surgery.  I hand quilted all of the white spaces with feathers.  I haven't done a quilt with quite so much feathery stuff before and I was surprised that it didn't take as long as I thought it would.  The whole thing took about 40 hours to quilt.  The back is dark blue and the white quilting shows up and looks really cool.  L.

Pink and brown star

I made this quilt for my nephew's wedding.  You would think that just sewing together rows of squares would be pretty simple (and it was) but laying out the design on my floor (and then not mixing them up) was the challenge.  L.

Disappearing squares

I found this pattern on Pinterest.  My sister-in-law wanted a quilt for her grand-daughter and gave me all of these different bright fabrics and I thought this was the perfect pattern to combine them. L.

Bear Paw

I made this Bear Paw quilt for a friend's wedding.  The groom was a mountain man from Wyoming so I thought the Bear Paw pattern just fit the bill.  L

Blooming Nine-patch

I found a picture of this quilt pattern in a magazine and thought I could improve on the colors they had.  Theirs was pink and black.  Another example was on the Amish Country quilting site with beautiful batiks.  This is my version.  This is a small lap sized quilt.  I gave it to a friend who was having health problems.  L.

Star Baby Quilt

Here is a baby quilt using the sawtooth star block set on point.  It was inspired by a miscalculation when cutting half square triangles for a different quilt.  The cute baby fabric with the blocks ties it all together.    L.
